About The Water Project
Brought to you by Parramatta City Council, The Water Project brings 750 students from across our region to talk water, discuss challenges, share ideas and work together to build a strong platform for school and community engagement. Led by Australia’s most famous science communicators, the Sleek Geeks, (Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and Adam Spencer), this youth-friendly educational forum encourages students to examine their relationship with water and engages their passion and intelligence.
This year’s program explores water from three different perspectives including:
- Information and Perception
- Nature and Design and Technology
- Poetry and Water
Curricula benefits:
Each participating school will be sent a symposium study pack, directly relating to curricular studies, based around The Water Project. This includes:
- Pre-event research activities: Two questions per week which students obtain from The Water Project website. Each question directly relates to the topics presented on the day of the symposium.
- A series of questions which can only be answered by attending the symposium.
Students then have an opportunity to present their results in classes in their respective schools.
